 Many a times when we talk about Evil, we often think of men. But today in this post, I will surprise you as the Worst evil people have actually been Women. Here is a list I created to show you some of History's Evil Women you need to know.

• Beverly Allitt

  Beverly Allitt born on the 4th of October 1968 was a British Nurse who dedicated her life into saving lives or perhaps taking lives. Over 2 months period of time in 1991, she murdered 4 children in her care by various means. She also tried to murder 3 more children and left six others injured. All these crimes were committed between the month of February and April in the children's ward at the Grantham and Kesteven Hospital, Lincolnshire, where Allitt was employed as a State Enrolled Nurse. She administered large doses of insulin to at least two victims and a large air bubble was found in the body of another. Beverly was found guilty which she was then labelled the "Angel of Death". She will be clocking 51 this year but she was sentenced to 13 terms of life imprisonment.

• Leonarda Cianciulli

  Leonarda Cianciulli born on the 18th of April 1894, had seventeen pregnancies during her marriage with Raffaele Pansardi a registry office clerk, but she lost three of the children to miscarriage. Ten more died in their youth. As of such, she was heavily protective of the four children that survived . Her fears were caused by a warning she had received from a fortune teller, who said that she would marry and have children, but that all of the children would die young. Reportedly, Cianciulli also visited a Romani who practiced palm reading, and who told her, "In your right hand I see prison, in your left a criminal asylum.

  In italy in the late 1930's, when she learnt that her eldest son Giuseppe was going to join the Italian Army in preparation of the World War ll. Cianciulli believed only human sacrifices could keep her children safe . She killed 3 of her closest neighbours who were all middle aged women with an axe in Correggio, Reggio, Emilia . Her official statement was:

"I threw the pieces into a pot, added seven kilos of caustic soda, which I had bought to make soap, and stirred the mixture until the pieces dissolved in a thick, dark mush that I poured into several buckets and emptied in a nearby septic tank. As for the blood in the basin, I waited until it had coagulated, dried it in the oven, ground it and mixed it with flour, sugar, chocolate, milk and eggs, as well as a bit of margarine, kneading all the ingredients together. I made lots of crunchy tea cakes and served them to the ladies who came to visit, though Giuseppe and I also ate them."

  She was then labelled the "Soap-Maker of Correggio". She was found guilty of her crimes and sentenced to thirty years in prison and three years in a criminal asylum. Cianciulli died of cerebral apoplexy in the women's criminal asylum in Pozzuoli on 15 October 1970. A number of artifacts from the case, including the pot in which the victims were boiled, are on display at the Criminological Museum in Rome.

• Belle Gunness

  Belle Gunness born on the 11th of November 1859 was a Norwegian-American serial Killer and moved to United States in 1883. She is thought to have killed at least 14 people but, the actual numbers might be close to 40 between the years 1884 and 1908. she Killed her own Children and a long straint of gullible husbands and suitors which earned her the name "Lady Blueberry". fortunately for her she was never caught. Her criminal activities came to light in April 1908, when the Gunness farmhouse in La Porte, Indiana burned to the ground. In the ruins, authorities found the bodies of a headless adult woman, initially identified as Belle Gunness, and her three children. Further investigation unearthed the partial remains of at least 11 additional people on the Gunness property.

• Aileen Wuornos

  Aileen Wuornos born on the 29th of February 1956 was an American Serial Killer who murdered seven men in Florida by shooting them at point-blank range. She claimed that all the acts were committed in self defense that her victims raped or either attempted to rape her while she was working as a prostitute between the year 1989 and 1990. On the 9th of January 1991, Wuornos was apprehended and convicted for six murders and was executed by the use of a Lethal Injection in the year 2002.

• Enriqueta Marti

  Enriqueta Marti born in 1868 was a Catalan child serial Killer. She spent her time assissting charity and abandoned children during the day in Barcelona, Spain. At nightfall, she would often murder or prostitute those same children out to the socialites of Barcelona. She began practicing witchcraft using the remains of the children in her concoctions which earned her the name "The Vampire Of Barcelona". In the year 1930, she was arrested and switched on by her fellow convict a few months later.

• Maria Swanenburg

  Maria Swanenburg born on the 9th of September 1839 in Leiden, Netherlands. was a dutch serial killer. She started her murderous career at the age of 41 with her first victim being her own mother by the use of Arsenic Poisoning. A little while later, she took the life of her own father in the same manner. She was thought to have killed 27 people of which 16 were her relatives and suspected of poisoning more than 90 people between the year 1880-1883. Swanenburg was caught after she poisoned the Frankhuizen family in December 1883. Her trial began on 23 April 1885. Swanenburg was found guilty of having killed at least three victims and she was sentenced to life imprisonment in a correctional facility, where she died at the age of 75 on the 11th of April 1915 .

•  Miyuki Ishikawa

  Miyuki Ishikawa born in the year 1897 in Miyazaki Japan was responsible for the deaths of many new infants at birth. Beginning her role in April 1944 as a director of a maternity hospital to help parents who couldn't financially support their babies by letting the infants pass on due to neglects then a doctor will give falsified certificates while her husband was trying to get little money the parents had as payment, at the time abortion was illegal in Japan, yet the local authorities refused to look into the actions or lack thereof that the midwife was taking. January 12 1948 police officers accidentally stumbled upon the remains of 5 infants and Miyaki was arrested, in under four years the Demon Midwife had already claimed approximately 103 lives. Despite all that Miyuki spent only 4 years in prison for the murders.

• Vera Renczi 

  Renczi was born in Bucharest, Romania in 1903, By the age of fifteen, she had turned out to be progressively unmanageable by her parents and had every now and again fled from home with various beaus, a considerable lot of whom were altogether more established than she was. Early cherished companions depicted Renczi as having a practically neurotic want for consistent male camaraderie and having a very envious and suspicious nature.
  Vera admitted to Poisoning 35 people including her two spouses, different lovers, and her child with arsenic during the 1920s. The soonest report distributed in the United States was in May, 1925 and she was dubbed " Black Widow or Chatelaine of Berkerekul". The story has surfaced over and again, yet without detectable subtleties, for example, explicit dates of her introduction to the world, relational unions, capture, conviction, imprisonment or passing. Most sources place the homicides at Berkerekul, Yugoslavia (present-day Serbia), or Bečkerek, which changed the name to Zrenjanin in 1946. In 1972, the Guinness Book of World Records found no definitive sources to help the case that 35 individuals were executed by Renczi in mid twentieth century Romania. The narrative of Vera Renczi may have started as a fiction or a deception.

• Biljana Plavsic

  Biliana  born on the 7th of July 1930 is a former president. In 1992, she served as the acting president of Serb Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovinia. Apart from political corruption, Biljana played a role in the Bosnian war by leading an ethnic cleansing against non-serbs in the country. She eventually became the 2nd president of the republic of serb, one of the governments of Serb and Herzegovinia. In the mid 90's, she was tried for her war crimes aand she defended her actions with the statement 

  "6 million Serbs can die so that the remaining 6 million can live in freedom"

She was sentenced to 11 years and was released on the 27th of October 2009. She is currently 88 years old.

• Karla Homolka

  Karla Homolka born on the 4th of May 1970 in Port Credit, Ontario, Canada. She is the wife of Paul Bernardo and she is potentially the most infamous killer in Canadian History. Between the 24th of December 1990 and April 1992, she and her husband were responsible for the sexual assault and murder of minors of which two were abducted teenagers. The first victim was her own sister Tammy who Homolka drugged and presented to her husband as a wedding gift on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, Tammy vomited while unconscious from the drug and died.

  

  Homolka initially claimed that she was forced to commit the heinous acts by her abusive husband and even managed to secure a plea deal with the crown attorney prosecuting Bernardo's case. However, its was subsequently revealed via a video footage that not only Homolka participated in the disgusting actions but initiated many of them which the Canadian press called the "Deal with the Devil". She was released in 2005 and she settled in the province of Quebec, where she married again. She briefly lived in the Antilles and Guadeloupe but by 2014 was back in Canada and living in Quebec. She clocked 49 this year. For those in Canada, she might just be your neighbour.
